I am a PhD student at the University of Vigo under the supervision of Javier Pérez Guerra and Luis Miguel Puente Castelo. My thesis project addresses how childlessness is treated in present-day English through Critical Discourse Analysis and corpus linguistics. I joined the LVTC group in 2024.
I hold two BAs in English, one from the University of South Wales (2021) and one from the University of A Coruña (2022). It was from this second one where I was awarded a BA award, a Premio de Fin de Grado. I wrote my BA dissertations on Critical Discourse Analysis, the British one entitled An Analysis of Political Language and Language of War at the Beginning of the Cold War (1947-1957), and the Spanish one entitled An Analysis of Trans-Inclusionary and Trans-Exclusionary Discourse.
I also obtained an MA in Advanced English Studies and their Applications (2023), with my dissertation entitled “This World Is Rotten”: An Analysis of Eco-Fascist Discourse. I was also awarded a MA award, a Premio de Fin de Estudios.
