LVTC members Dolores González, Yolanda Fernández, Ana E. Martínez, Javier Pérez and Esperanza Rama coordinated the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Multilingualism: An Integrative Approach", in collaboration with the Universities of Minho (Portugal) and Leiden (The Netherlands).
This BIP on multilingualism aimed to enhance understanding of bilingualism and multilingualism, while also fostering skill development in research methodologies through the examination of cognitive language processes and the design of psycholinguistic experiments. It brought together a total of 30 students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds: 11 from the University of Minho, 13 from Leiden University, and 6 from UVigo.
Throughout both the online phase (2–6 June) and the in-person sessions in Redeiras (16–20 June), students engaged with professors from the participating institutions, M. Carmen Parafita-Couto (Leiden University), Cristina Flores and Montserrat Comesaña (University of Minho), as well as distinguished invited researchers, including Tim Laméris (Leiden University), Hans Stadthagen-Gonzalez (Benedictine College), and Annie Beatty-Martínez (University of California, San Diego).
The thought-provoking lectures and dynamic group work sessions culminated in a final presentation of the projects developed during the programme, followed by a cultural trip to Braga, where participants visited the CIPsi and CEHUM LingLab laboratories.
