At BICLCE6, celebrated at the University of Wisconsin--Madison in August 2015, it was announced that LVTC will organise the 7th International Conference on the Linguistics of Contemporary English (BICLCE2017) in Vigo, on 28-30 September 2017.
The aim of the BICLCE conferences is to encourage the cross-fertilization of ideas between different frameworks and research traditions, all of which may address any aspect of the linguistics of contemporary English. Traditionally, syntax (specifically constructions), sociolinguistics, variation and discourse analysis are some of the focus areas of the conference. Previous BICLCE conferences were held in Edinburgh (2005), Toulouse (2007), London (2009), Osnabrück (2011), Austin, TX (2013) and Wisconsin-Madison (2015), along the same lines.
