05/07/2023

The LVTC research group has hosted the 32nd European Systemic Functional Linguistics Conference from 15 to 17 June 2023 in Vigo. The conference aimed to deepen in the explanation of language and other modes of meaning-making, and explore models for the representation of such multimodality. In ESFLC2023, the study of verbal and non-verbal communication was approached from SFL and associated disciplines in the form of 63 paper presentations, a single-themed symposium on new approaches and new tools for the analysis of multimodal (digital) communication and 3 plenary talks by Dr Rebekah Wegener (Paris Lodron University Salzburg), Prof. Kay O’Halloran (University of Liverpool) and Dr. Inés Olza (University of Navarra). As announced in Vigo, the next ESFLC Conference will be hosted by the University of Timisoara.
